Newbies Sales Tips

Market Situation

Most beginning webmasters do not have enough legal pics to start a pay site that updates every two weeks. Those who insist on setting up a pay site with only about 100 rotating pics soon realise that surfers want more than that. Eventually their sites fail. Others resort to illegal pics from newsgroups and pay sites they have joined. Either they get into trouble with the owner of the material they have used or members who have joined the site get fed up with pics they have seen everywhere, these sites fail too. They may have worked in the past, but they are unlikely to work now. There are more and more experienced surfers out there who will only pay for fresh (expensive) content which most beginning webmasters cannot afford.

The good news is, free sites with limited content do make money. But like all businessnes on the net nowadays, it's getting more and more competitive and difficult. Many free sites obtain revenue by putting up banners for sponsors who pay them a few cents for a click. Obviously, they not only need good traffic but they also need surfers who would click on their sponsors' banners to survive. And for most of us, generating traffic is the hardest thing to do. When I first started and was on a click thru' program, the checks I got every month wouldn't even pay for the hosting fees.

Some webmasters actually beg their visitors to click on their sponsors' banners. Well, so what if they do click but don't buy? In every business environment, profits can only be sustained is there is a win-win situation. No sponsor can survive if they pay for clicks that don't convert into sales. If sponsors die out, free sites will also die out.

Alternatively, free sites can charge advertisers a flat rate for an advertisement on their site. But how are they to convince the webmaster of a pay site that the $300 a month investment is worth it?

For most beginning webmasters, I believe that selling memberships to pay sites is the best and surest method of generating revenue. It not only builds up a win-win situation which will ensure future growth for all parties, it also minimises risks for pay sites and give free sites a performance-dependent income.

Traffic Building

There are many ways to generate traffic to a site. You can post links to newsgroups with images attached. You can post your pictures to picture post sites, submit your gallery to a thumbnail post, submit to search engines or simply make your an AVS site.

You can read about all the pros and cons for all the traffic-generating methods in webmaster resource sites. I tend to favour AVS sites as traffic generating tools. To start off, I would advise my partners to build a site with at least 30 images and submit it to Adult Check or CyberAge or SexKey. Remember that you need at least 30 images to qualify for a listing in Adult Check. They also want unique sites and no templates. With so many members at AVS sites, all of whom have credit cards and have paid a small sum for access to tens of thousands of sites for "free", you have a ready pool of potential customers there. Start building your AVS sites today.

Another way to generate traffic is to post picture galleries to picture post sites. You can do that at Shaven Ferret. The good thing about this system is that it submits your gallery to hundreds of picture post sites at the same time. Another sure traffic puller is Pic Post and Thumbs Up and The Hun. But do not raise your hopes too high. Picture post sites give you plenty of traffic, but the users are mostly freeloaders.

Target And Focus

Of course, one must never have too many eggs in one basket, but one shouldn't have too many banners in one site too. When you come across a site that is a banner farm, would you click on any of the banners? Obviously not.

For your AVS site to be effective in generating sales, place just ONE text link at the bottom of your image gallery. Target your images at potential customers who may be interested in seeing Thai girls in the nude. The harder you try to entice people to sign up at my site, the more likely you are to make money and it's not just a few cents. I pay you 50% through a reputable agent, Globill Systems.

Don't just think about it. Try it out and you may be surprised by how well it works. If you are struggling to pay for next month's hosting fees, this is perhaps the time to make a difference. I'm not saying that you should only have one partner, but be smart and build a different site to promote EACH partner.

More is not necessarily better, especially when it comes to banners. Focus on one partner at a time, target customers who may be interested in that particular partner's material and you will see results. So if you're ready to go, sign up now.
